happy April birthday by Connie Hull pictures
Wishing those with birthdays in April a very Happy Birthday. Little Anna is singing your song of “Happy Birthday to you happy birthday to you happy birthday God bless you, Happy birthday to you.”
April is a wonderful month. There is April Fools day on the first day of April; however, one of the greatest fools of all is no one knows when it started or why. But it is very very old!
Sunday April 16, 2017 is Easter shown with our risen savior hugging the little girl in the upper right hand corner.”He arose He arose Hallelujah Christ Arose.” And below that the empty cross signifying he has risen.
The little girl in the egg in the lower right hand corner, is also part of Easter.
The last Friday in April is Arbor day in most states shown by the pretty pink spring tree in the middle of the left side..
Then the food of the month is strawberries as seen on the cake with the teddy bear and also in the beverage.
The flower of the month is two fold a sweet pea and daisy. These are also seen in this greeting, and the birthstone is a diamond. Of course no birthday is good without balloons,at least a gift and of course Ice Cream as seen behind the cake on the left. Wishing you a very very Happy Birthday where all your good wishes come true, and you get lots of goodies too. by Connie Hull
Below a wonderful sweet true story of little girl on 911 call keeping her dad calm.
In this one above note the little boy Tennessee Erny Ford’s son Brian and note Tennessee Ford’s reaction to his son. Love this to bad TV isn’t like this today my opinion loved the live stuff so real.
Remember our troops in service. Please check out page under Woodston Military.
Here are some good encouraging links for you. Best to listen to them in order as that is the way they go. On the “Butter Fly Effect”
Check out Woodston or your home town if you like
Today there is not a lot left of Woodston and after a tornado went through there a few of years ago there is even less; however, if you would like to view the little town of about 90 maybe + people that might include dogs and cats as well, here is a link to the little town on the Prairie Plans of Kansas. http://www.vpike.com/ On this page you can type in Woodston you could likely start with Main street for a street address.. and you can see our little burg or type any other place you want to see in the USA and maybe further, and it will likely show you that too. Some places are not as good as others. Some only show the road ways or highways or streets while others like Woodston show the whole town and you see the houses and streets and all.
Special thank you Wayne (Wilkie) Wilkenson WRHS 1954 for sending in the above link
A POEM FOR LIVING EVERYDAY
IF I CAN DO SOME GOOD TO-DAY – IF I CAN SERVE ALONG LIFE’S WAY,
IF I CAN SOMETHING HELPFUL SAY, LORD, SHOW ME HOW.
IF I CAN RIGHT A HUMAN WRONG- IF I CAN HELP TO MAKE ONE STRONG,
IF I CAN CHEER WITH SMILE OR SONG, LORD, SHOW ME HOW.
IF I CAN MAKE A BURDEN LESS – IF I CAN AID ONE IN DISTRESS,
IF I CAN SPREAD MORE HAPPINESS, LORD, SHOW ME HOW.
IF I CAN DO A KINDLY DEED- IF I CAN SOW A FRUITFUL SEED,
IF I CAN HELP SOMEONE IN NEED, LORD, SHOW ME HOW.
IF I CAN FEED A HUNGRY HEART – IF I CAN GIVE A BETTER START,
IF I CAN FILL A NOBLER PART, LORD, SHOW ME HOW.
Special Thank you to Maureen Thompson from BC Canada for sending this poem in to the WFP
Oilfield Dodge Car – 1920
link above is a 1920s vintage Dodge Brothers sedan drives down muddy roads and across muddy fields to get to the gushing oil well. For some strange reason the car has “Oil Field Dodge” painted on the side. This may be a company promotional video. They don’t make them like that anymore.
>I thought you might enjoy the link below of 1905 movie of the night before Christmas. From Edison Studio’s. The music is also from that era and much is recorded on an Edison cylinder recorder.
I thought you might find these old movies from the San Francisco Earthquake in 1906 some are before movies some are after movies all are original footage. With a camera mounted on a trolley car enjoy the ride!
1906 SF Damage after the earthquake. Movie
1906 SF Damage right after still has smoke very good movie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oubsaFBUcTc This says it is four days before the earthquake but I think it may have the wrong date but a full line of the trolley anyway. IF you look even at the hats the ladies are wearing in 1906 they are not quite as flamboyant as the ones in this which were much closer to 1910. Tom Hull WRHS ’61 also found some cars that were circa 1909. There are several dates with this same movie some 4 days before earthquake one 1905 etc.. anyway this one goes all the way down to the terminal and turns around same one as the shorter one only not as many glitches in it and starts further up the line and goes all the down and turns around.
It is my hope you will enjoy this web site and tell others about it. Whenever you see WRHS it means they graduated from Woodston Rural High School and the year they graduated is by that
When Woodston had a high school the mascot was a Coyote pronounced “ki (long i) Oat” Not the newer way of “ki (long i) OaTEE“ The school colors were Purple and Gold.. so now you know why the colors and the purple and gold with the
W with the word Coyotes I am using for the WFP.
