This building is the former Rooks County State Bank built in 1910. It is the oldest building that has had continued business in it since it was built in one form or the another.
At the time the above building was built in 1910 there was one other bank in Woodston,The Woodston State Bank, this bank became; part of The Rooks County State Bank in 1926. The Rooks County State Bank was one of the few banks not to go under during the great depression in the 1930’s. In the 1950’s John McCormick became the owner of it and when he retired in 1971 he sold it to the Berkly family in Stockton KS making it part of the Stockton National Bank. It was after the year 2000 that Stockton National Bank closed the branch in Woodston. It was after that it became the Woodston City Building and is to this day.
